Formula1 - European Grand Prix 2004 - RESULTS
05.30.04 (7:54 pm) [edit]
Schumacher wins Euro GP
Michael Schumacher powered to victory in the European Grand Prix on home soil at the Nurburgring to get back to winning ways.
Leader of the pack: Michael Schumacher sets the pace
Schumacher, who saw his 100% record in grands prix this season ended last weekend at Monaco when he crashed out, reclaimed his customary position at the front.
He led from pole position and never looked threatened as he claimed his 76th Formula One win by 17.9 seconds from Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello, who helped the Italian team to their fourth one-two this season. Jenson Button finished third.
Button had not looked capable of pushing for a top-three finish, but after a relatively quiet race he inherited third when team-mate Takuma Sato lost his front wing following a clash with Barrichello.
Button walked away with six points and his fifth podium of the season to languish 22 points down on Schumacher, who holds a 14-point lead over Barrichello in the championship.
Monaco winner Jarno Trulli was fourth with Renault team-mate Fernando Alonso a place behind. | European Grand Prix 2004 - Qualifying Results |
05.30.04 (4:07 pm) [edit]
(04-05-29) 09:02 PDT NUERBURGRING, Germany (AP) --
Michael Schumacher rebounded from last week's crash to capture the pole position for the European Grand Prix, the 60th pole of his career.
Schumacher, whose season-opening five-race winning streak ended at the Monaco Grand Prix, is closing in on Ayrton Senna's record of 65 poles. This was the fifth pole of the season for the six-time Formula One champion .
"There is always some extra motivation from the fans at a home race," the German driver said. "It is also good to be racing so soon after Monaco to put that disappointment behind me."
Schumacher was timed in 1 minute, 28.351 seconds on Saturday on the 3.2-mile Nuerburgring circuit, and had the best times in each sector by a large margin.
After problems in Monaco last week and in practice for Sunday's race, Schumacher was superb.
The Ferrari driver limped out of the Monaco GP after 43 laps with his front left wheel dangling. Afterward, rival Juan Pablo Montoya complained again about the German's driving.
"It's good to get back in the rhythm and forget about last week," Schumacher said. "You can't change it anyway."
Takuma Sato of BAR-Honda was second in 1:28.896, and Jarno Trulli of Renault took third at 1;29.135, just before Kimi Raikkonen of McLaren-Mercedes on 1:29.137.
Last year, Raikkonen claimed the pole with 1:31.523, only to retire when his engine blew up after 20 laps. Raikkonen also had the fastest times in Friday's practice.
Trulli, last week's winner, went out first in pre-qualifying and finished in just 1:29.905 and was amazed at his high placing.
"It's hard to believe that I am here in third position," he said.
Schumacher was forced out of the second practice Friday after his Ferrari developed a hydraulic problem, a rare occurrence for the German. Schumacher's car hasn't failed in a Formula One race since the German GP in 2001, an unrivaled string of 44 races.
Schumacher leads the driver standings with 50 points, with Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello second at 38. Button is third with 32.
Button has been making the most consistent runs at Schumacher this season, with two seconds and two thirds in the last five races. -----
The race starts in an hour. Will update!
I love F1 :D

Really beautiful..
Went to an amusement park, Fun World... two of my cousins threw up there after going thru a small ride... ho ho.. Went shopping.. stayed there for two weeks... though I was connected to the internet, I never felt like blogging.. Guess I needed that vacation... Must go thru all the stuff that I missed with the other people..

After a long break! :)
05.13.04 (9:34 pm) [edit]
Sorry for not updating for a really long time... Was held up a bit with all the stuff that I had to do for my concern - softycom... Was given a lot of small errands to help my cousin out who was getting some good orders...
Thanx a lot for your comments when I was away, especially vigilante, ferriman, Evegrrl, Alyssa (bloodmoney), Nanooku, ObjectZero etc...
I am getting a lot of info for developing my city's website - coimbatore.info. I asked my friends living all around the city with information on all the shops and other centres in thier part of the city, like libraries, courier centres, shopping malls etc.. This is being done with a view in making it easier for any new comers to know something more about the city. Hope that I do something that serves the purpose.
My cousin, Rajesh is helping out by developing an application that serves as a classifieds database.. If you know any third party scripts that are really good, please let me know, as presently we are hard-coding it and it DOES take a lot of our time...
I wont forget to blog next time around.. guess it simply feels awful..
The sun is back here, no more rains for the time being...
Byes...

Rainy Days
05.05.04 (1:40 pm) [edit]
A very funny thing happened after I posted my last blog. I was downloading the update files to protect my system from sasser.. when my system displayed some error message and restarted. I thought that there was a power surge or something... But the restart kept looping... It restarted again and again and again... Then my friend, a system technician came, ran the sasser Fix tool and found and removed it! I had been affected by sasser!! Oh the irony!!
Its been raining all of the past three days. And looks like the fun will continue!
See my weather report for today!

I love the weather.. three days since I saw direct sunlight! People are really ridiculous... Here people were praying for rain all the time.. And when it does rain... they curse it as they are stuck in thier houses! Strange right! They look only for themselves and care little about the ecology.. All of them, just a stunt....
RAIN RAIN COME AGAIN, SHOW YOUR FACE AGAIN AND AGAIN, LITTLE JOHNNY WANTS TO PLAY (IN THE RAIN), RAIN RAIN COME AGAIN!

Sasser computer worm spreading fast - removal tools.
05.03.04 (1:43 pm) [edit]
A new worm known as Sasser threatens further disruption as it spreads via any internet linked computer. Millions of computers worldwide may have been infected, said a leading internet security firm, and the problem is getting worse.
Sasser, unlike a virus which travels through e-mails and attachments, spreads directly from the internet. It attacks recent versions of Microsoft's Windows causing the computer to shut down.

Bit busy...
05.02.04 (6:34 pm) [edit]
I have been a bit busy over the past few days, collecting information for my city website, coimbatore.info... and thats the main reason that I was not blogging.. Yesterday, I came around, but tblog was down for some unknown reason...
Also I had to help my cousin who had to complete a content management system... I was checking for bugs in the system and found out quite a few, and my cousin was pleased... My planned trip to bangalore can only commence after my other cousin's exams are done.. they get over on the 6th.. after that.. yet to plan...
Planning to do a lot of websites during the hols.. but the system is getting on my nerves... with the weather also getting pretty hot, everything is irritating... Received good rains on alternative days.. Even now, it is a bit dark outside right from 4 . PM.. who knows what god's got it store for us...
